A simple thought, poetically stated. Something that I love that my mom does, that I try to do with all my best friends, especially the ones who don't live in my city, is to plan random weekends to come visit and ask for nothing other than to get to be integrated into their daily lives. Just to know what their everyday weekend routine looks like:
- their favorite coffee shops
- the neighborhood restaurant they like to go to
- where they go for a walk in the morning
I really agree that knowing someone's most boring and routine moments is sort of the hallmark of intimacy, and it's really worth preserving.
